1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the TumaConnect platform, which connects senders and travellers for community-based parcel delivery. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
2. Definitions
- Sender – A user who posts a parcel for delivery.
- Traveller – A user who posts a trip and agrees to carry parcels.
- Admin / Platform – TumaConnect's operational team.
- Booking – A confirmed match between a sender and traveller.
- Escrow – Payment held securely by TumaConnect until delivery is confirmed.
3. User Responsibilities
All users must:
- Provide accurate information.
- Respect other users and communicate professionally.
- Comply with the prohibited items list.
- Use the platform honestly and safely.
4. Age Requirement
Users must be 18 years or older to create an account or participate in parcel delivery.
5. Identity Verification
Travellers may be required to upload ID for verification. TumaConnect may suspend accounts that fail verification checks.
6. Platform Role & Liability
TumaConnect is not a courier company. It connects senders with travellers who voluntarily agree to carry parcels. TumaConnect is not responsible for:
- Lost or damaged items
- Delays due to travel or customs
- Actions of senders or travellers
However, TumaConnect will assist in dispute resolution where possible.
7. Booking Process
A booking is formed when a traveller confirms a sender's request. The sender must make payment into escrow before meeting the traveller for parcel collection.
8. Payment & Escrow
- Sender pays after traveller accepts the request.
- Traveller receives payment after successful delivery.
- Payments may be refunded if the traveller cancels before pickup.
- Refunds follow the Refund Policy on the platform.
9. Parcel Collection
- Traveller must inspect parcel contents in sender’s presence.
- Senders must declare contents honestly.
- Hidden or illegal items will result in immediate account suspension.
10. Delivery
- Traveller must deliver parcel to the correct recipient.
- Traveller should capture delivery proof (photo/signature).
- Traveller marks delivery completed; sender confirms for escrow release.
11. Prohibited Items
The following cannot be sent on TumaConnect:
- Illegal substances
- Weapons or sharp objects
- Cash hidden inside parcels
- Explosives or flammable items
- Unlabeled liquids or chemicals
12. Communication Rules
All communication must occur within the TumaConnect messaging system. Sharing personal phone numbers, emails, or WhatsApp details is prohibited for safety reasons.
13. User Account Suspension
TumaConnect may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Fraud
- Illegal items
- Abuse or harassment
- False claims or misuse
14. Dispute Resolution
Disputes must be submitted via the platform. TumaConnect will investigate chat logs, delivery proof, and booking details.
15. Data Protection
All personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy and in compliance with UK Data Protection laws.
16. Limitation of Liability
TumaConnect is not liable for:
- Losses caused by users
- Unauthorized parcel contents
- Missed flights, delays, or force majeure events
17. Changes to Terms
TumaConnect may update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of major changes via the platform.
